Food Poisoning

Obviously this isn't anything I would have pictures of...

But Brett is currently recovering from food poisoning. Actually, the doctor thinks it might be E. Coli or salmonella poisoning! This is the second time he's had food poisoning in the last 3 years. The first time we suspected E. Coli, but now it's definitely confirmed. He hasn't had any stomach issues since then - vomit free...until now and of course, its the worst possible kind.

Needless to say, he's miserable! It started a couple days ago around 5:30 in the morning and it didn't let up! Poor Brett called me and asked me to come home around noon so I did and what I found was a very, very sick husband. We decided it was best to take him to the doctor so we headed over to the Insta-Care at Riverton Hospital.

It turns out that he was so dehydrated that they hooked him up to an IV of fluids - two bags! He was given pain killers and anti-nausea medication. It took a little over 4 1/2 hours for the bags to finally drip into his system! He was sent home with some more medication and he's been living on the couch ever since.

He tried going to work this morning but after the morning meeting they told him to just head home. He has no energy so he's facing another bored day at home with nothing to do except watch the History Channel and sip Powerade. Poor guy!

In case you were asking what did him in, we've narrowed it down to two possible culprits: Nachos with melted cheese, hot sauce and ground beef, or In-N-Out Burger. Considering In-N-Out Burger is his all-time favorite, he thinks it's the nachos. Having cooked the ground beef myself, knowing I cooked it thoroughly...I blame the latter. Either way, it'll be a long time until he has taco-seasoned anything or hamburgers.
